Methods of preparing whole bean coffee

We offer different ways to prepare your whole bean coffee so you can enjoy Fungeat coffee varieties in particular. These methods assume that the coffee is already ground, and while there are suggested grind levels for each method, we think you can still experiment with different grind levels to discover what you like beyond the rules.

We'll start with the French Press . It's an easy-to-use and readily available brewing method. It consists of a cylindrical container with a plunger. After pouring the coffee, the water is poured into the plunger. After a certain amount of time, the plunger is lowered to separate the extracted coffee from the water. It's ready to serve.

An Italian coffee maker or Moka pot , this famous and common household method, consists of a two-chamber device: the lower chamber filled with water and the upper chamber filled with a coffee filter. The water boils, and the steam presses the ground coffee, producing a concentrated and aromatic coffee at the top when the extraction is complete.

Filter or drip coffee : This method involves a machine that, as its name suggests, absorbs the coffee using drops, capturing its flavors and aromas. After passing through the filter, the contents are deposited into a carafe, ready to be served. This method allows you to prepare any amount of coffee you want, whether for yourself or for a large group of people.

We continue with the Aeropress , a fairly quick and versatile method. It works by placing water and coffee in a cylindrical container. Then, the plunger is pressed to obtain a coffee concentrate, similar to a French press.

Chemex , this method has a container with a peculiar shape, as its shape accommodates a filter in its opening where the coffee is deposited. After that, the water containing the coffee must be poured into the container so that it is extracted in a controlled manner.

Finally, we'll tell you about the V60 , which consists of a cone with a base that allows you to place it either directly in the cup or in a special carafe. A paper filter is placed on top of the cone, which must first be soaked, and then the coffee is added. The water must be poured in controlled circles over the coffee. This method requires you to control the time and concentration of the coffee.

Later, we'll share a recipe that uses coffee as the main ingredient so you can enjoy it in a different way.
